Residence permit for civil partners

In Germany, it is possible to marry your same-sex partner. Registered civil partnerships concluded in other countries have the same status as marriage.

However, non-married partners cannot obtain a right of residence even after your refugee status has been recognized.

After three years, the residence title of the spouse can be extended regardless of whether you continue to live together. If you have lived together with your partner for less than three years, he/she can lose the residence title.
